Brian Alvey Double Bass Bow - #2531

Along with bow #2530 this graceful bow was acquired by The Contrabass Shoppe directly from a UK bass bow collector who had commissioned the pair sometime in the late nineteen-seventies from Alvey.

Description

Although virtually identical to that of #2530, subtle differences to weight, length, balance and to the carving of the head suggest that these bows were not made as a "matched" pair. However, in common with bow #2530 this example is in "as-new" condition only greatly enhanced in the depth of the stick colouration due to the effects of the atmosphere over the passage of time combined with the preserving status of a non-user collector.

Both #2531 and #2530 are bows of quality, grace and function ability. A rare combination that's guaranteed to excite both players and collectors alike.
