| Well look no further than this exquisite selection
of bows made by the up-and-coming young Brazilian maker -
Marco Raposo. He really is the "new-kid" on the block
as far as we are concerned - for these well made bows are able to
"do-the-biz" for much less than half the cost of some
of the more - shall we say - "established" modern
bow makers.
Pernambuco - the main raw material of bow making
grows high up in the mountains of Brazil's Atlantic Forest.
It is here that Marco Raposo and his highly trained craftsmen work
together with great care and attention to detail to produce these
artist-quality bows. In addition to the thought, planning and development
that goes into each stage of the bow making process Marco shows
great concern for the environment and in particular the protection
of the Pernambuco tree - the rare wood species so critical to the
future of music. In this respect Marco has initiated several reforestation
programs aimed at developing a sustainable relationship with the
tree and other native species of the tropical forest. Thank you
Marco - your efforts are exemplary.
Yes - we boffins at The Contrabass Shoppe thoroughly

pernambuco.

elegant, refined and beautifully carved.
3) They represent unbeatable value for money.
