If you are a jazz player or are currently in the process of trying to get one of those coveted positions in an opera, symphony or chamber orchestra then the playability, good looks and sound of this notably early example, is certain to help you along very nicely indeed. The instrument has undergone a full programme of restoration, which includes internal table regraduation, the fitment of a new bass bar and the fitment of a stunning new neck and fingerboard. Of interest is the fact that on the upper bass side rib, the instrument features two partially obliterated “previous owner” signatures carved into the wood and the date 8-8-10.

The instrument has a sound that is full and rounded with just the right amount of punch and projection. The added advantage of a string length of a mere 104.9cm makes this instrument almost impossible to fault.

    Pure quality!
