Ever had a niggling worry in the back of your mind
that your shoulder strap might not be quite up to the job? Ever
had doubts about using your shoulder strap after hearing about the
nasty accident one of your colleagues suffered while going down
a flight of steps on his way home from college. Yes - I thought
so. Well this strap will definitely interest you, for it has been
made from industrial webbing and heavy-duty clasps.
Well - just as it sounds - it's
an incredibly strong, closely woven fabric that has been designed
for use in industry. With a thickness stat of only 2mm - this wonder
material is not only half the thickness of an equivalent leather
strap - it is considerably (more than 100gms) lighter and much more
flexible.
The buckle and clasp are heavy-duty stainless- steel.
They are the same quality as those that you will see being used
for the tack on exhibition Shire horses. Fabulous stuff indeed.
Once you've adjusted the length of the strap
to suit yourself - fitting is secured in a matter of seconds. Slip
the collar end over the scroll and position at the base of the neck,
then attach the opposite end by drawing back the clasp and releasing
so that it clips around the tail wire. If it looks likely that the
clasp could cause damage to the varnish of the lower rib when clipped
to the tail wire then as an alternative either clip it to the shaft
of the endpin-unit tightening screw or to the shaft of the endpin
(immediately above the collar or boot) itself. That's it,
you're off to the next gig - no more messing about with
silly buckles - this is quick, simple and safe.
Oh - I nearly forgot to mention that the well-padded
shoulder cushion is fully adjustable. It measures a generous 235mm
x 65mm x 20mm.
